MACO Protect M-TS, the first 3-latch motorised lock on the market, was chosen from 520 submissions from 23 countries for the prestigious German Innovation Award (GIA) in the category: Excellence in Business to Business – Building & Elements. Josef Hölzl and Günter Bruckbauer, who played a leading role in the product development of the Protect M-TS, accepted the award on behalf of the company: the award ceremony took place on 14 May 2024 in Berlin.

The innovative operating principle (contact pressure via 3 latches, locking via motor) makes the motorised lock unique with regard to unlocking speed and ambient noise. Door manufacturers benefit from the simple fabrication and enhance their doors with the premium product with regard to ease of use, smart home compatibility, and access control. This also impressed the jury panel for the German Innovation Awards.
