MACO UK supports Building Our Skills
To kick off the year, MACO UK is proud to announce that we have partnered with Building Our Skills, a company committed to bridging the skills gap in the fenestration industry by working with companies and educational institutions to inform and inspire the next generation, as well as upskilling existing employees.
To mark the occasion, we invited Building Our Skills Partnership Manager, Mark Handley, to our building for the first time. Mark shared the work that Building Our Skills has done over the last few years to develop relationships with the education sector and explained how having businesses like ours on board helps support their mission.

Kevin Whiting, Managing Director, adds: “As a company committed to our own employee development, the decision to come on board as a partner within the wider industry was very easy. With around 100 apprentices in Austria each year, it seems a perfect opportunity to also get more involved in the UK. Inviting Mark down to present to the whole team was important to us to ensure that everyone within MACO understands the part they can play in supporting the industry. We are committed to supporting and growing awareness of the fenestration sector, and as a long-standing hardware supplier with office and warehouse facilities here in the UK, we are well placed to demonstrate the breadth of career choices available within the industry.”
As part of our partnership, we will be supporting Building Our Skills at their careers fair events in the summer in the North and Midlands. The industry offers opportunities for people with all types of skill sets and interests, from sales to customer service, warehouse operatives to finance, and marketing to product management. Each employee at MACO UK has a story to tell about their journey into the industry, and we hope that by sharing our stories through the network that Building Our Skills is developing, we can inspire the next generation to join us in what is a diverse, innovative, and integral part of the wider construction industry.
