Whether professional training or personal development - our strategic personnel development harmonises the learning needs of our employees with MACO's know-how requirements. Both the regular employee survey and the annual employee appraisals including a survey of training needs provide inputs on which training formats are required.

Comprehensive training catalogue

Published for the first time at the beginning of 2023 – and updated annually – the MACO training catalogue summarises the wide range of training courses on offer. This allows employees to quickly find the right courses for their training needs.

Establishing a management culture that motivates and creates a stable framework for the continuous further development of employees – this is the goal we consistently pursue. We offer a comprehensive range of training courses for our managers: from specialised training for specialist managers to varied development programmes for team and group leaders right through to individual coaching. This enables them to strengthen important skills and acquire a diverse set of methods so that they can provide targeted support to their teams in practice.

Getting started in the window industry

ICON_Zukunftsbericht_2024.pngMACO UK has partnered with the Building Our Skills organisation to close the skills gap in the window industry. Together, they are represented at careers fairs in the summer to inspire young people into the window industry and to train existing employees. The industry offers a wide range of opportunities for people with a wide variety of skills and interests - from finance and bookkeeping to warehouse staff and marketing. MACO UK employees share their personal career paths to inspire the next generation to become part of this important and innovative industry.

Digital learning platform grows

Our e-learning platform MACOversity is entering its third year and continues to grow: since its launch, 8,800 courses have been successfully completed, and in 2024 alone, active users have completed an average of five courses. In 2024, the range of courses was expanded by 21 training courses to a total of 152 face-to-face and online courses.

TheICON_Zukunftsbericht_2024.png learning platform is also growing geographically: in 2024, it was not only made accessible to all apprentices and production employees in Austria, but was also rolled out in our branches in Italy, France and Spain. At the Austrian locations, special study rooms with PCs have been set up for this purpose.

Environmentally conscious in the office

We want to sensitise our employees to sustainable behaviour. In 2023, we created an e-learning course on the topic of "Ecological behaviour in everyday office life" and published it on our digital learning platform. It provides valuable knowledge and practical tips on how everyone can make a simple contribution to environmental protection in their day-to-day work. A course on the topic of ISO certifications was also created. 

Paperless working is just one component of this: catalogues, invoices and business communication - all of this is becoming increasingly digital at MACO. Group-wide.

Learn environmental management

Sustainability is one of our three corporate values. To ensure that this value is brought to life and that there is a common understanding, we have been training the management team on aspects of sustainability and environmental management every year since 2021 - across the Group and across countries. As multipliers, the participants take what they have learnt back to their departments. This is an important pillar of our sustainable corporate transformation.

ICON_Zukunftsbericht_2024.pngHowever, not only managers, but also other employee groups - such as our product developers - receive training on the circular economy and ecological issues. The knowledge gained from this will be incorporated into the design of new products. In 2024, more than 75 people received comprehensive training in face-to-face events at our plants in Trieben, the Netherlands and Germany.
